My name is Mindy, and I just so happen to be in my early twenties. Twenty-one to be exact. I call the Pacific Northwest my home [The Cherry City] - Salem, Oregon for the geographically challenged - not by choice, but circumstance.
I am what some may call a geek, with greater emphasis on the word ‘Geek’ rather than ‘nerd’. I believe there is a distinct difference between the two. While both may be considered knowledgeable, one may be considered a little more suave in natural settings. My interests lie in technology, the social intricacies of the net, and other non geeky things.

I (in collaboration Loren's mom) got all of Loren and I's finances figured out. It's going to take 16 weeks starting this week to get completely out of debt. Then, probably, another few months just to get more saved up and what not. So, all in all, we're looking at 5 months to get everything back to debt free. Honestly, I think Loren's parents and we have kind of come to some sort of understanding, and it won't be that bad. If living here for, basically, the rest of the year gets Loren and me completely out of debt and in a good position financially, I am more than ok with that. I believe that just as long as we're paying our bills, Loren's parents will kind of leave us be.
I'm nervous about my job only being seasonal, though, and how that will affect our debt budget. It is only expected to last until about September. After that, I'm not sure what's going to happen. I'm trying to tell myself that we'll deal with that bridge when and if the time comes, but I can't help but be a little scared. I'm sure that Lana (my contact with Express Personnel) won't let me be out of a job for too long. That's why we're saving up money before we leave the safety of the Gerecke house I suppose.
I can't wait till next year comes. We'll have all of our debt gone, enough for a down payment on a car and apartment (maybe even a house!), and on our own. Hopefully we'll have learned a few things about saving and managing our money too.
